I really like this recent stream of visual consciousness comic style. It's interesting even if a little harder to read (I'm all for making the reader work a little). To that end, I sent a link for your blog to a buddy of mine, Tom Devlin who owns/operates the comics publisher Drawn + Quarterly out of Quebec. It likely won't lead anywhere, but I saw no reason not to point him your way. For what it's worth.
I worried that you might get all uptight about this but really, knowing Tom, he will give very little in response. That's just the way he is. He doesn't like my work really at all. :"D
So Tom wrote back today. As I thought, he didn't have a lot to say but there was some definite positive stuff in there. I'll cut and paste:
"Billy comics (especially the new b/w style with the Craig Thompson-y lettering) look good...The strips look nice and let’s face it, so much out there looks terrible!!!" The subject matter wasn't to his liking, but Tom has trouble relating to things that other people find important. He's always been that way. Anyway, think of it as a fan letter kinda sorta. I figure feedback is always good, especially when it's from a pro. Tom used to cartoon himself and he was the one that taught me to really appreciate it as an art form.

Well he has a point! They are really devoid of meaning! But I appreciate the props very much so!
